Nordic Farmhouse Decor at Our House this Christmas

Thursday, December 19th, 2019

Welcome to our Home and our Nordic Farmhouse Christmas!

Christmas comes early to our hearts and minds in our home. We decorated very early – back in November. My friends are asking me to share what I’ve done and post for all to see. At the end of a long year of real estate, here’s some respite from a difficult market and hard sales.

Reason for the Season

Christmas has a lot of meaning for me still to this day. I loved Christmas growing up. It meant cookies, family dinners and church visits. I work to balance my beliefs about what I learnt in Church about the reason for the season. I ask myself, how did a ‘mythology’ or ‘folklore’ become so pervasive between countries and languages? Is it the need for one another to aspire to forgiveness, the light, love and peace or is it something more?

Like any good REALTOR® – I watch at upcoming trends, home decor, colors and materials to influence the mood of my home and this years Christmas is no exception. Being an Alberta girl, I do like Farmhouse. I like Joanna Gaines. I like Fixer Upper. I like Ship lap. Even Wagon Wheel lighting gives a smile to my decorating soul.

After a thorough review of the upcoming trends and styles for Christmas 2019, I decided to mix two styles into one for our house.

She went above and beyond every step of the way.

Check out these not so catty remarks… lol

Edmonton Realtor Testimonial - Jeanine Osborne

Edmonton Realtor Testimonial – Jeanine Osborne

I have never met an agent like Jeanine. She went above and beyond every step of the way.

Firstly, she listened to what I told her I was looking for and did not waste a moment of my time. She was not trying to just sell a property. She was determined to find the perfect home for me and my black lab, Lewis. She invested a huge amount of time researching, making inquiries with condo board regarding their pet policies, and investigating possible issues with buildings. She took care of details that I could not because of my work schedule.

She is honest, dependable, knowledgeable, a fantastic negotiator, and a genuine kind person. I am so very happy that I met Jeanine and would recommend her to anyone looking to buy or sell.

Saving the Commissions could cost you thousands

Saving the Commissions could cost you thousands

What is the largest single advantage of trying to sell your home yourself?

Saving the commissions payable.  So what is the single greatest advantage of buying a home directly from a seller or for sale by owner?  Saving the commission again. So everyone wants to save on the commissions, but who has the advantage in the Lower Mainland? Is the advantage on the sellers side with only one property to sell, or on the buyers side with multiple properties they could buy and the money to do so?

Whether buying or selling your home, you have several decisions to make.

Should you work with a REALTOR®? Which real estate company will provide the best value? Which REALTOR® within that company will be best suited to help you through the process?

We reached out to the RE/MAX Influencers: A panel consisting of RE/MAX Sales Associates from throughout Canada. We asked them: Why should a consumer work with RE/MAX when he/she has so many options out there?

The Brand

Chances are, you would have a hard time finding someone who has never heard of “RE/MAX.” With 100,000 Sales Associates in nearly 100 countries worldwide, the RE/MAX name—along with the iconic balloon—represents a professional organization that has become an industry leader.

RE/MAX also advertises through many mediums, including: Television, print, online and physical signs such as NHL rink boards. This high level of exposure will go to work for you when listing your property. Many RE/MAX Sales Associates are also affiliated with the Children’s Miracle Network; therefore, the sale of a RE/MAX Miracle Home will help support your local children’s hospital. According to ComScore, RE/MAX Canada also leads other real estate brands with its significant traffic to remax.ca.

“In an uncertain market, consumers become less speculative. Instead, they rely on proven brands to reinforce their efforts to manage one of their most important investments. They rely on the experience and expertise that has made RE/MAX one of the most recognizable brands in the real estate world.”

Sales Associates

RE/MAX Sales Associates have the experience to get the job done in today’s market.

The vast majority of our membership are full-time agents who are experts in their local communities. They work hard and are committed to help their clients through the home buying or selling process. *RE/MAX agents sell more real estate than any other Canadian brand.

“RE/MAX is often a collection of the top REALTORS® in any given marketplace. RE/MAX also has an international network: This type of network could be where the buyer of my client’s home comes from.”

Training and Support

RE/MAX supports all of its Sales Associates with comprehensive training and ongoing support.

Our affiliates are highly skilled and educated, and they have the latest tools and technology at their fingertips. They are motivated to put this knowledge and experience to work for you!

Hawk the Trauma Dog – Calgary Police

Here is a large step in understanding the abilities of our creatures on this planet of ours. I love animals. I am happy to showcase another example of the good animals give us. Which brings me to Hawk.

I call him the ‘Wonder dog’. You can refer to him as a Calgary Police dog. His title is a ‘Trauma Dog.’ Hawk started his career in 2013, and just over a year later he is helping a very little girl.

So all the numbers are in and we have some excellent indications of what will be happening in the Real Estate Market across Canada. The picture below shows some of the more important numbers and as you will find out in later posts, the numbers in Alberta come in just the same as we are seeing across Canada.  I absolutley love that there is an almost neutral belief in rising housing values.  As you will find out in later posts, Alberta is leading the way with a higher percentage.

Cats Meow in Re/Max Real Estate with Jeanine Boutet

Now these aren’t catty remarks…

I had a home for sale with Comfree and on the market for 2 months. Had 7 viewings and no sale. I was surprised by how fast our home sold with Jeanine!!! In a matter of 4 days we had viewings and an offer!!!
She was honest in regards to our evaluation of the home, gave us some pointers (ie. paint that one wall..) and was informative. Very pleased and highly recommended…Which I have.

Very pleased client,

Ilda Marques
